Dr. Sukhjinder Thind, Cosmetic and Restorative Dentist
Dr. Sukhjinder Thind received her DDS from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada and briefly practiced in Ontario before settling with her family in greater Chicago. Since 2004, she has worked in a group practice setting involving multiple dental specialists. Dr. Thind is a strong proponent of comprehensive treatment planning and being able to offer choices to her patients. She believes in a patient-centric approach where the general dentist and specialists work together under one roof in delivering all-inclusive quality treatment.
Since completing her dental studies, Dr. Thind has taken extensive education in implant and advanced restorative techniques. She holds a dental license in Illinois and is a member of the ADA, ISDS and CDS.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Thind enjoys searching out new culinary experiences and spending time with her husband and two boys.
Dr. Shilpa Mailapur, Board Certified Periodontist & Implant Surgeon
Dr. Shilpa Mailapur received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University and subsequently completed a three-year post-graduate residency program in Periodontics at Indiana University School of Dentistry and training in IV sedation. Dr. Mailapur has obtained the highest recognition for a specialist in the field of Periodontology by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a distinction held by less than one third of practicing Periodontists. Dr. Mailapur regularly attends continuing education courses, to keep up with the latest in dental implantology, bone and soft tissue grafting and facial esthetics. She is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontology, Illinois Society of Periodontology and ADA. Her personal philosophy for the practice is to provide comprehensive periodontal treatment with the highest quality of service. She believes strongly in patient education and comfort.
She currently resides in Aurora with her husband and two daughters. She holds a First-degree black-belt in Tae Kwon Do awarded by World Tae Kwon Do Federation. In her spare time, she likes to bake, go for long walks and practice her kick-boxing skills.
Dr. Noor Obaisi, Board Certified Orthodontist
An Illinois native, Dr. Obaisi completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Following her dental training, she returned to UIC for a three-year specialty residency in Orthodontics, earning a Master of Science degree in Oral Sciences and a Certificate of Orthodontics.
Dr. Obaisi is trained in all techniques of orthodontic services including porcelain and metal braces, Invisalign, Temporary Anchorage Devices (TAD’s), and lingual braces. She continues to keep up with the latest techniques in orthodontics with continuing education courses. Dr. Obaisi’s professional memberships include the American Association of Orthodontics, the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, the Midwest Society of Orthodontics, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
In her free time, Dr. Obaisi enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, sketching, baking and traveling.
Dr. Xiaoxian Meng, Endodontist
Dr. Meng brings diverse experience and unique expertise to the Lead Dental team. In addition to practicing dentistry as a “root canal specialist”, Dr. Meng is an educator, a public health advocate and an ambassador working towards the betterment of oral health at multiple levels.
Dr. Meng earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. Subsequently, she completed a two-year Endodontic specialty residency from the Lutheran Medical Center in New York, where she was awarded her certificate in Endodontics. Prior to earning her dental credentials, Dr. Meng obtained the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and the PhD degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Florida.
Dr. Meng teaches part-time in the Department of Endodontics at the UIC College of Dentistry. She has served as a faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine as well as professional staff at the WHO Collaborating Center for Oral Infectious Diseases from 2007 to 2010.
